Many newer team members bring a much needed optimism, but ultimately the toxic environment takes over.
Freedom to work independently
All employees are monitored constantly and not often given the chance to improve when mistakes are made.
The leadership is consistently poor, even with the most ambitious managers. The executive leadership doesn’t really allow much wiggle room for new ideas.
Attendance is strictly enforced even the instances of serious illness or injury. Unless the employee is on short term disability, the absence is not excused.
There are multiple reasons listed for immediate termination. The turnover rate is very high.
The work itself is straightforward but can be very difficult to navigate due to the personal nature of the industry.
Inclusive / Diverse
I did encounter racism in one Conduent office that has since closed. The Albany location is widely diverse and all races and genders seem to be treated equally. They are equally under valued, but treated equally.
Suggestions for improvement
- Leadership workshops. Nicer dining area. Company events such as volunteering together.
What I like about the company
Since the atmosphere can be difficult, people tend to strongly bond with their teammates. This leads to positive actions in the workplace.
What I dislike about the company
The executive leadership does not cultivate an environment of growth and does not allow its management to be leaders. Only bosses, or dictators. Employees are often treated as cattle. One policy applies to all, no personal circumstances are to be considered. The candidate pool for future leaders within the company ends up being whoever didn’t get fired for an unreasonable offense, or get sick of the atmosphere and quit.
