Company summary

Consulate Health Care is a national leading provider of senior healthcare services, specializing in post-acute care. We offer services ranging from comprehensive short-term rehabilitation and transitional care to Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Consulate Health Care began as a small provider in Cheswick, PA with a strong focus on patient needs. We haven’t waivered from that focus, which has strengthened our family and allows us to sustain jobs in many communities, create rigorous systems of care and deploy technology that makes it easier to understand patient needs. Even as we’ve grown to become the sixth-largest provider in the nation and the largest in the Sunshine State, it’s the little things we do while fulfilling our mission statement of "Providing Service with Our Hearts and Hands" that really make the difference. From visiting with our patients while they eat, to pulling up the sheets to just the right height, our employees care for patients like family, not because it’s their job, but because it’s their calling.

Suggestions for improvement

  • More supplies on hand that are needed to do the job. New equipment to do the job. More staff and not calling off employees that would make the job easier and the residents taken care of as they should be.

What I like about the company

Staff works well together. Have made friendships with co-workers that will last

What I dislike about the company

Not having needed supplies on hand. Not having working equipment to do the job.

Company Culture

Management doesn't communicate with staff unless they discipline. Management doesn't evaluate staff performance on routine basis. Staff are angry and defensive.

Support from management

Management argue between themselves nursing DON leadership belittles staff and nothing is fine about it.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Each department stands on their own.

Work-Life Balance

Because of stress at work it's difficult to balance with home. You feel worried all the time if you've done something wrong.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Better health benefit options that are worth having. Also, better paid time off, for example 2weeks a year should be given compared to having 3. Something every 2 weeks. Don’t understand the point system.

What I like about the company

My boss cares about all workers and treats everyone like family. My department is appreciated.

What I dislike about the company

Benefits could improve for their staff members.
