Company Culture

It's a call center so you are a stat

Support from management

It is their job to monitor your calls and write you up for every minor infraction

Teamwork

They try to have competitions but it is hard when so many people leave or are fired

If you are a minute late from break you receive an email. Everything is noted that you were notified.

Company Culture

No one welcomes new employees and is stand-offish

Support from management

It is absolutely clear that there needs to be more supervisors available to help newer employees.

Teamwork

Not at all. Other employees are not trained in areas, in which they pass off calls from other state call centers to this particular center.

Freedom to work independently

We work too independently after training and forgotten, that's the problem.

Internal Communication

When mistakes are made problems are not addressed to the individual but in a passive aggressive general matter that still doesn't help the employee

Career Development

The training was scattered and contradicted itself as soon as you got on the actual floor. A lot of miscommunication and felt we weren't trained enough to do Tech Support when hired for Customer Service roles.

Office / Work Environment

When I worked here the office environment was dismal and unsettling.

Everything is going green in the office.

Flexible hours and the free day during the week helps with appointments

Suggestions for improvement

  • Better in classroom training environment. In my years of being in a call center environment, you CANNOT just throw someone on the phone 2nd day of employment and not expect your turn out rate of employees to not be high.

What I like about the company

I loved how Consumer Cellular had flexible hours to work with great deals on their products and services.

What I dislike about the company

I did not like the lack of help available when there was something that needed to be addressed that my role couldn't accomplish. I got a lot of passive aggressive commentary from supervisors when asking for help or other employees passing off their calls to me being told contradicting ways of how to operate as a account specialist.
