Some supervisors were very supportive of their employees and appreciative of their efforts while others would harangue and demean their direct reports. It was a very stressful climate to work in
Support from management
The supervisor was very unprofessional and was not a good example for any of the customers. She knew nothing about the customers or our products and made no effort to learn.
Freedom to work independently
The workload was fairly distributed in some areas but not all. Employees had no say in how things were done and although requests for ideas for improvement were requested none were acted on by management
This aspect of the company was pretty fair overall although management was not entirely truthful on how well or poorly the company was doing as a whole
Women were not treated as fairly as their male counterparts.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Long serving colleagues were systematically laid off or were told that their jobs had become redundant
No to all
Overall compensation for your work
This company haso had no wage increase for hourly employees for the past 6 years at least
Office / Work Environment
I would say the equipment was outdated and substandard. They should have invested back into the company in the form of updated equipment. This would have resulted in more efficient work flow and throughput. The lighting was terrible, the noise level required ear protection which was provided by the company
I don't have any opinion on this aspect of the company
There was never an issue with office staff being able to take time off but the shop employees weren't so lucky. The one thing to note is that the hr department head would try to circumvent hipa laws by telling employees that they were required to tell them why they were taking sick time. That doctors notes had to specify why the employee had been off
My particular job was very challenging and I took great pride in my work and a job very well done.
