Suggestions for improvement
- Profit sharing. Driver referral bonuses for employees, not just other drivers. A healthcare program that offers reduced premiums for healthy living. Healthcare comparable to what is offered to UAW workers. Cleaner work environment, better office equipment and furniture. Better internet server. Recycling program.
What I like about the company
The ability to change positions and even locations easily. For company employees, not Independent contractors: In less than a year you earn 3 weeks of PTO. Health care benefits, while not very good begin on the first of the next month you work. Meaningyou could start work on the 31st of one month and have health care benefits on the 1st of the next month. It seems that 90% of the jobs are days positions, Monday-Friday.
What I dislike about the company
Facility isn't well kept. Corporate doesn't always have the terminals best interest in mind. Communications between corporate and terminals as well as with drivers isn't very good, but it could be a lot worse. Some kind of profit sharing/bonus programmight improve individual employee performance. Employees are not eligible to receive referral bonuses for drivers. I know this is a industry standard, but does not encourage employees to help the fleet grow.
Health care benefits nothing special. Prescription coverage is pretty good but Dr. appointment coverage & blood tests not so much. Haven't used the insurance for urgent care or ER, so nothing to mention about those coverages. Dental insurance is good, they pay toward preventatives that other insurance companies don't, but not fluoride for persons over the age of 18.
