Innovation center kitchen is always trying new recipes with different cultural and geographic influences
Support from management
We deal with lots of surprises that are hard to explain to customers regarding recipes, nutritional information, and product changes
There is a big separation between corporate and the people who do the grunt work
Marketing- especially on new recipes would be very helpful.
Overall compensation for your work
Raises are around 2%. Above minimum wage salary. Heath insurance and 401k are available.
3 absences in a year and you have a written warning- no matter what the circumstances are, who died, missing limbs, flu, house on fire - doesn't matter. It's dehumanizing that you are expected to be to work every day no matter what. Even if you are an exemplary worker, if you have 3 funerals in a year you get a write up.
As long as people are hungry Continental will be there to feed them!
You need to be on your feet all day and work in a tight environment where there are periods of time you need to be able to hustle.
Suggestions for improvement
- Listen to the little guys who actually talk to and get feedback from the customers on a daily basis. We know what works and what doesn't.
What I like about the company
It usually works into my schedule as a mother who needs to drop my son to school and pick him up.
What I dislike about the company
No challenge or growth potential. If you are very sick you are expected to be at work, which contradicts state health guidelines. If you have the flu for example you get a black mark for not being at work even though if you were it would not be safe for your customers for you to be handling their food.
