In the field the working condition, are generally good.
Support from management
Leadership support was low. Leader had poor follow and follow-through.
Teamwork of resetters and merchandisers was fantastic.
Freedom to work independently
When on assignment there is a lot of autonomy.
There is a lot of favoritism, not based upon work or work ethics, in the Massachusetts area regional supervisors.
Attitude towards older colleagues
They do hire older workers. The older worker seems to be valued, and that is a good thing.
There is a advancement system, in which you can earn pins. The career advancement path is not clear in retail merchandising.
Overall compensation for your work
The work is contracted, and the company is definitely taking the lion's share.
There is a lot of comradarie among the merchandisers out in the field.
You could be asked to work late nights and overnights, often when working on projects.
Good questions, you know how people are. There no loyalty these days.
Independent retail merchandising can be done for a living.
Retail merchandising is a physical job. Good question.
Safety is in a priority.
The work can be fun and interesting if you are working with a good crew.
Inclusive / Diverse
Depending upon the area, the work crews could be diverse. And that is good.
