Good Management. Great opportunities for advancement. Very nice benefits. The health and safety of the plant floor employees is taken very seriously. The pay is very good and the company gives benefits and incentives through out the year to show they appreciate what we do. If you show up and try to do the best you can it gets noticed here.
Support from management
The management is very considerate. Supervisors care about us and listen if we have a problem and are willing to work with us.
There is a family atmosphere within the company. I like the comradery among my co-workers, we look out for each other.
Freedom to work independently
Some jobs require to work alone, some are team based.
Management holds meetings and round table discussions where factory floor employees are included and can voice concerns.
Many women doing production jobs in the plant. A lot work in finishing.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Some of the older workers here are grumpy but for the most part people here are good to work with. The company appreciates the workers.
the work you do gets noticed and there is a lot of opportunities to move to other positions.
Overall compensation for your work
Pay is amazing for the Findlay area. The pay is great since it's incentive work, I make about $20 an hour and there is ways to get bonuses to increase your pay. The harder I work the more money I make and Cooper has provided financial security to support my family and for myself in retirement.
Office / Work Environment
hot and dirty work environment but it's a factory so expected. Some areas are climate controlled.
They follow the environmental laws and have recycling programs in the plant.
2-2-3 work schedule with 12 hour shifts can be hard to get used to at first but it's not that bad. I get a lot of time with my family and enjoy having a 3 day weekend every other week. Only work half the month.
I am very proud to work for Cooper and tell everyone I know to apply here
They have been in business for over 100 years. The company is growing and putting money into upgrading and adding new equipment in the plant so I know my job is secure.
Have a lift in place if can't use the stairs.
safety is a priority and taken seriously. Have safety teams and union rep.
Positive atmosphere focused on producing a quality product. I've learned a lot about quality and continuous improvement through this job. Depending on the job assigned it can be fast paced physically demanding and require lifting and a lot of walking but I've been assigned to other jobs that are just the opposite of this, it just depends on what the department needs.
Inclusive / Diverse
Ideas / recommendations are welcomed by my supervisor. They may not always make the changes but they value the input.
