Suggestions for improvement
- Copart needs to place a higher importance and allow the management to keep the workplace properly staffed. The location I worked at was always short handed and overworked. We were expected to function at the same level as a tiny location but as one of the top 5 largest (revenue) locations in the company. This placed a huge demand on each person to make up the deficit. We burned out the hard working employees and the lazy ones were doing just enough to keep from getting moved out the door and not to mention the management was always delegating their responsibilities downward to already the overloaded employees.
What I like about the company
Copart is a very appreciative and rewarding company and will place enormous support behind their hard-working employees. If you learn quickly and adapt to the environment well, you can quickly move up the ranks. Productivity is monitored daily and this can create a competitive environment amongst the employees. Management gives generously to the employees regularly (monetary prizes, free lunches, cookouts, etc) The pay was very competitive (when I was there) The market allows you the opportunity to work with customers worldwide and local and will quickly learn to ask for you by name. Since this is a salvage business, this company will not be going anywhere... anytime soon! Awesome 8-5 Mon-Fri schedule with a 1 hour lunch. Office or outside positions available. At first it seems like the perfect job....
