What I like about the company

Our office manager works hard to create a positive work environment in what small ways she can. The employee stock purchase program is a good perk.

  • Management needs to hold people accountable without making excuses. The actual salvage yards are more tightly run than the off-site location where I am.

What I like about the company

Good benefits & employee activities. I don't actually work in the salvage yard but as a contractor, for Copart, with a major insurance company.

Company Culture

The employees that give it their all are the ones that get write ups and spoken to. The ones that don’t do their jobs are safe from any trouble.

Support from management

Management wouldn’t help my department out when asked numerous times. We lost drivers which meant more workload and less people. They changed rules and held us accountable for things that were not our fault. They lied on reports and pushed us to lie on them. I am honest so I would email management daily stating why numbers looked the way they did so I had written proof they requested me to lie. They pressured my dept into making sure vehicles were picked up and things were done smoothly. Dispatchers were held accountable for everyone else’s actions.

Career Development

I attempted multiple times to advance to a supervisor. I was the only one to have a degree in business at my yard and I was the dispatcher there and doing a great job. They chose someone with no education that quit the dispatch position because it was “too stressful”. They do not appreciate the hard workers who want what’s best for the company.

Overall compensation for your work

Pay was alright but with the pressure and request from management and the disrespect from other departments it was not worth it.

Work-Life Balance

The location I was in expected and pushed me to use my own time and resources such as my phone and evenings/weekends.

Suggestions for improvement

  • NEW MANAGEMENT!! The yard I was at is completely corupt. There was no issues with old management. Reports were great. Attitudes were great. People were happy. New management came and everything declined.

What I like about the company

Nothing. HR and upper management (regional etc) didn’t seem to care about any issues going on there. About 10 people in the 2 years I was there reached out because of severe issues and none were taken care of.

What I dislike about the company

Everything. No one works as a team. Management sits back and does nothing at all but blames employees when things go wrong. I gave 200% to the company and they fired me because of something “I did I knew was against the rules” when I’m actuality my supervisor was right there with me when I did something to get a car picked up due to managements ongoing extreme pressure. When questioned my supervisor denied it all. Very very unfortunate now I am feeling that and they are fine.
