It is definitely a good ole boy company.
Attitude towards older colleagues
The cliques of current employees prefer younger inexperienced employees that are not a threat to their position.
I made the mistake of expressing my career goals. My supervisor was threatened by my ambitions and although he said he supported my goals, he sabotage me at every turn. He put me down to upper management and lied about my capabilities. He took credit for my ideas.
Overall compensation for your work
The company lowered my salary after I put in my notice at my former employer. I thought that was shady but I didn’t intend to be with them for an extended amount of time.
Office / Work Environment
The offices are nice in the facility that I worked in but the government offices are much nicer. If you can get on with the government partners, that is a plus.
They changed their name to avoid the stigma of private prisons but they are exactly what everyone thinks. They profit from others suffering.
Inclusive / Diverse
I’ve observed exclusion of women and minorities. The leadership favors employees that are rich, white and Republicans. I’ve also witnessed promotions of unqualified employees based on who they know or are related to in the company.
Suggestions for improvement
- Promote a inclusive, collaborative work environment. That promotes healthy competition but encouraging equally accessible training. Leadership should discourage information hoarding and isolation by current employees, who seem to be driven by fear and racism.
What I like about the company
There are some great programs for employees and inmates.
What I dislike about the company
