It is a cult. Either you're in or you're not. The selection process is secretive.
Support from management
Nonexistant. I was lied to and hired as a mule who would never be developed or valued.
If you are lucky enough to be included, opportunities exist for teamwork
Freedom to work independently
Already carrying a ridiculous workload, when I asked for guidance I wasn't taken seriously. The company rapidly expanded as did my duties. The reaction by management was that I wasn't trying hard enough. I began to skip my breaks and lunch, stayed late and was reprimanded for doing so.
Weekly meeting were usually productive
The ideal candidate is a recent female college grad. Anyone else will be relegated to a menial position. The company practices discrimination against men and older employees, unless you are friends with the department head
Attitude towards older colleagues
Older employees are disposable and readily dismissed.
Although I have the same qualifications as my co-workers, I am not being cultivated for advancement, because I am older than the average worker.
Overall compensation for your work
Pay is commensurate with working in a fast-food restaurant.
Office / Work Environment
working conditons were acceptable.
Profits are the primary consideration
Schedule is generally favorable, holidays observed.
The owners, while generous at times, constantly heap praise upon themselves internally and around the community. If you can last 3-5 years, attitudes toward the company is generally favorable.
Employees, no matter their length of service, are summarily fired without warning.
There are elevators
I don't remember being challenged, just dissed and patronized.
Inclusive / Diverse
Only younger females are valued. All department heads are women and men can be successful if they suppress their own opinions and internalize their feelings. Age 30 plus need not apply, unless they are women.
Suggestions for improvement
- Owners aren't that young. After they retire or sell the company, it will likely be an entirely new atmosphere.
What I like about the company
They are a young innovative company and succeeded in grabbing a large market sector. They offer some nice perks and development of personnel.
What I dislike about the company
Employees are valued if they fit the mold and adhere to the cult culture of the owners. Otherwise you are discarded quickly like human refuse.
