Suggestions for improvement
- Have a training program. If the management doesn't have the ability to train a trainer needs to be hired. Learning the system is not a self training program. The electronic equipment (computers) need to be up to date and totally functional. I can't stress that a real training program needs to be in place to allow new hires the opportunity. The company hires a majority of locals, pay them a wage that is just enough that will allow them to survive in the small town atmosphere but not enough to leave area.
- Encourage all mechanics to train and receive their Air Frame and Power Plant Certificates. Lacking that Certificate, even with years of experience prohibits and impedes the mechanics from seeking other employment if they wish. Promote furthering their education and offer tuition reimbursement. Don't discriminate or inhibit individuals because of religious beliefs. Hirer more women employee's. There are only 3 out of 100 employee at the Okmolgee location. In today's market it is prudent to seek advances in employment as experience increases. If an enployee is not in the inner circle the chances of advancement is difficult if not impossible.
What I like about the company
Clean working conditions on the Turbine side. Not so on the Radial engine side.
