Company doesn't appreciate the concept of inclusion!

My last manager before I was down sized spent 90 percent of her time behind closed doors which didn't provide much leadership for the department!
No true concept of teamwork --- it's like a fish bowl (as everyone is so into tearing one another down).
Freedom to work independently
My manager just wanted to provide direction from behind a door. I was verbally reprimanded for securing a new hire and the package was different from her direction but she missed the bigger picture --- we closed a deal and candidate was happy! Perfect example of small mindedness.
