There is a certain amount of religion as the owners are LDS, company parties and employee luncheons will have prayers said. I was always uncomfortable with this, but you get used to it.
Support from management
Most of the Project Managers are very knowledgeable, most have worked their way up the ranks, the owners are brothers who are sometimes out of the loop.
Overall the team work was pretty good.
Freedom to work independently
There is no autonomy, no free thinking, no ability to adjust to unforeseen circumstances. There is a plan and you follow it.
Communication was always important, they usually tried to stay as up to date as they possibly could as far as laptops, phones, etc..
Not so much women on the job as it is a construction site, but there was no discrimination by upper management anyway.
Their management structure is pretty set. Not really any room to advance.
Overall compensation for your work
Different levels of compensations for different levels of experience.
Office / Work Environment
The job sites were expected to be clean and safe.
Once again dependent upon your religion, I'm not bashing the company but not everyone is religious and it was never separated.
The work-life balance was fine as long as you work your 45+ hours a week and bring your jobs in on time and on budget.
Like any company moral can fluctuate, but a positive company image is very important to them.
I worked for them during a recession, and they always kept me busy. If you are a good worker they will keep you busy.
N/A, this is a construction company.
Safety is very important to them.
It was always a good feeling to furnish a job knowing that it was done as a result of your abilities.
Inclusive / Diverse
As the definition to the left explains it, I would say no. They have a set way and a method. That being said, they are not tyrants, in fact most of the time the are very decent people to work for as long as you don't have an opinion.
What I like about the company
They kept their core people busy and they are loyal to them even if that means cleaning up the office to make sure they get you your hours. For the most part this is a good company to work for, and once you earn their trust it takes a lot to break it. After leaving this company I came to a position where I could hire contractors, and because of their quality I would hire them.
What I dislike about the company
There is some nepotism which you expect in a small company. It can cause problems however when a son is placed in a spot over you and you quickly determine that he couldn't find the ground if he tripped and fell. However having seen a petty side of them, I believe one of the owners would spend $10,000 to keep you from getting $5,000 that he owes you.
