  • Working environment would be the first place to start.

What I like about the company

I enjoyed the work, but the current employees were pretty crappy to the newbies., they constantly complained about their workload, but made no effort to “keep” new people around. It was a negative, gossipy environment.

What I dislike about the company

I think management should be more aware of how the “established” employees are treating the new hires, training the new hires, etc.. and look at the high turnover.

Company Culture

They do not follow their own corporate values. Just lip-service and slogans that are never practiced.

Support from management

None. The regional managers don't care about helping you or how you can't get anything done because they push their work on you--they're only worried about renewing the contracts. They offer no help at all and expect you to figure out stuff on your own, they don't want to hear your problems.

Teamwork

It's every manager for themselves, there is no teamwork or collaboration between managers. Don't even try to get help from other managers in different accounts, they are only looking to get ahead at the expense of their co-workers.

Freedom to work independently

For the most part, you won't have to deal with the regional managers every day because they don't want to hear your problems. Best thing to do is send them email updates and they'll leave you alone.

Internal Communication

If you like a full inbox full of useless emails, you'll love working for them. You'll receive dozens of emails every day from corporate blowing their own horns about how great they are and other time wasting emails, but if you email them about important issues, they never respond back. No one picks up the phone either so you leave countless voicemails until someone decides to call you back.

They'd rather hire less experienced people so they can pay them less.

Career Development

None. There is no career development or opportunities for advancement. Your only chance to move up is to wait for Crothall to sign a new facility and hope you get transferred there.

Overall compensation for your work

They will try to pay you the least possible. For new hires, they start them off on average $10,000 less then competing companies. Even raises and bonuses are less than industry average. PTO is also below average. If you had more PTO coming in to Crothall, they will not honor that.

Office / Work Environment

Depends on what account you're placed in. As a contract management employee, you'll work with the hospital's employees with only a handful of other Crothall employees.

Environmental Friendliness

Corporate has policies but they are secondary to the policies of the facility you work in.

Work-Life Balance

Non-existent. I would give zero stars if I could. Corporate talks a good game but rarely is this ever applied to front-line managers. 10 plus hour days are common, you're expected to be in by 7am and God help you if you leave the office at 4:30 or even 5pm. You're also expected to answer emails during the evenings and weekends.

It wasn't a horrible company to work for name wise

Management was weird it was some that would help you without and second guess and then others that would just be there to manage

You had some willing to work as a team and others that were just there

I sometimes felt followed and I was one to worknow hard and always get my work done on time

I was working through Crothall at Shands I was a great employee who always completed my work with no problem and when they were switching people over to Shands I should have been one of the first ones switched over but I got the run around and then they just laid all of us off without a care

Totally unfair in promotion practices, abuses authority and harassing culture including sexual harassment and bullying. Managers are incompetent.
