Nepotism is a factor in my rating on this.
Support from management
This company has been good to work for; however, it still has the "Good ol' boy" mentality. Nepotism has become an issue and some are made to feel as though some employees are untouchable because of their family ties to upper management. As long as you stay to yourself and not get involved with the office politics, you will be okay.
This is a catagory where nepotism becomes an issue. Most employees work well with each other; however the fact that upper management has family lower on the "totem pole" makes it difficult to point out issues or bring up problems that arise.
Freedom to work independently
Workload is manageable.
There are no weekly/monthly/quarterly meetings to go over workflow, issues, etc.
One statement on this...there is only ONE female in upper management...
Attitude towards older colleagues
I believe they are treated the same and fairly. I cannot comment deeply on this issue as I am not in that age catagory.
No real room for advancement in my area of employment. Not sure about other departments.
Overall compensation for your work
Never had an issue being paid on time...Salary is comensurate to my experience and benefits are okay. Used to ne better before the affordable care act.
Office / Work Environment
Working in the office is stressful because of the "clique-y" culture and the fact some employees are related to senior management.
I've never had any issues taking vacation and hours are within normal standards.
I have a moderately good outlook on this company all things considered.
I've always felt my job is stable.
Seems to be compliant for the most part.
Inclusive / Diverse
This isn't applicable to my scope of employment.
Suggestions for improvement
- More open communication betwern upper management and the "little guys". More meeting...even if just twice a year, to go over work flow, possible issues, accolades, etc. would help keep employees motivated.
What I like about the company
My job has always been stable and never had an issue being paid.
What I dislike about the company
I don't work in the HQ office; however, when I have visited, I have felt as though employees are very "Clique-y".
