What I like

Nothing

What I dislike

A to Z

Suggestions for improvement

A to Z.

Company Culture

Fake company culture. They say to help people on their path to better health. Hack, no! It should be "looting our customers on our path to better profits"!

Company Image

For customers: -100 out of 10
For employees: -infinite out of 10
I hope this makes sense.

Work-Life Balance

It was ok. Had every other weekend off but my subconscious mind was still occupied during my day off with nightmares I used to have working for CVS.

Career Development

Not much. You are just not motivated to move up top. It's same situation.

Teamwork

That was the best part of my job to enjoy. No matter how stressed and over worked we were, we would always adapt and work as team. I used to call them my second family. But CVS was jealous of it and that's how the team is disintegrated now. They lost at least 40 years of combined experience in span of 1 year due to deteriorating work conditions!

Attitude towards older colleagues

From what I was told, CVS is marginalizing older employees who are on higher pays compared to new employees who can work at lower pay (due to sad state of pharmacy profession)

Support from management

Front store manager, yes. Pharmacy manger, yes. Supervisors, depending who's in place: I had at least 6-7 supervisors over me in span of 5 years I worked for company. High turnover there too!

Office / Work Environment

CVS did exceptionally hard work to make work environment toxic. Severely understaffed, stressed, Black Age computer hardware, metrics that made it impossible for anyone to think sanely, and even worst yelling customers.

Challenging Work

If I were to rate any job out of all professions, working for CVS in retail pharmacy would easily come up top in terms of the most challenging work you would ever encounter. Ever.

Job Security

Indirectly, they would inform you that you are easily replaceable so I don't think there is any job security.

Internal Communication

It was ok. Fortunately, my store managers were receptive of my opinions and so was me of him/her (high turnover -that's why him/her)

Freedom to work independently

I wish I could give zero star to this question. I was literally working on assembly line with no use of my judgement.

What I like

The friendly people who are always willing to step up to a challenge. Pay is fair, reviews are annual, and there is room to advance in the company’s hierarchy.

What I dislike

The one person who is very difficult to work with and belittle some staff in public. Very high maintenance and I feel hostile to all but her select favorites. The reason I put this here is today the corporate office knows all about this yet does nothing to correct out because she is a long term employee.

Suggestions for improvement

Very happy working here. I’m part of an awesome pharmacy team who are working as a strong cohesive unit during this pandemic crisis. One pharmacist needs to be more respectful and accommodating of older employees and customers but is the exception to the great team overall dynamics.

I Do Not Recommend Working At The Corporate Offices

Former EmployeeWorked in Finance at CVS Health in Woonsocket, RI.

What I like

Very little. The cafeteria, maybe. I quickly realized after being hired that I had made a mistake in coming here.

What I dislike

Too big, disorganized, no job security.

Company Culture

There is no job security here. Restructuring and layoffs are the norm here. Happens annually and has become expected. Makes for a very tense work environment

Company Image

I rarely hear anything good from people who use the pharmacy.

Work-Life Balance

I regularly worked 50+ hours a week and brought home another 4-6 hours of work on the weekends. They kept cutting my staff, cut the remaining staff's overtime, and then told me I had to do whatever they couldn't get done because I was salaried. Burn out happens quickly here.

Career Development

None. It's all about keeping your head down and doing what you are told.

Handicapped Accessibility

As required

Overall compensation for your work

Somewhat lower than market. Health benefits were surprisingly poor for a healthcare company. Expensive, high deduct plans. Very expensive dental.

Inclusive / Diverse

The company is diverse only because they employee so many Indian contractors.

Teamwork

Teamwork within my department was good, but only because we had that "we're all in the same boat attitude". Outside of the department, there was none. Department operate in bubbles - very little inter-departmental coordination.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Older colleagues are treated just as poorly as younger ones. Everyone is equally dispensable.

Support from management

My manager was laid off 11 months after I began. I was assigned to another manager who told me he wanted nothing to do with managing the department, but was told he had no choice. The department director was clueless as to how the department operated. I had no internal resources to go to at all. I was basically told to "figure it out".

Office / Work Environment

Facilities at corporate are nice. Fairly new. Cafeteria & outdoor eating area. But, the work area is just row after row of cubicles from one end of the building to the other. No walls between departments, so it's very noisy.

Challenging Work

Tedious and repetitive.

Job Security

Very low. Layoffs and restructuring are a regular practice.

Internal Communication

Very poor. The company is simply too large. Too many different divisions and departments. Decisions affecting multiple areas are not communicated effectively and problems constantly arise. Decisions are made without informing all the players.

Gender Equality

There is gender equality at the staff level, but exec management is a boy's club

Freedom to work independently

There is no other option when management want's nothing to do with your department.

What I dislike

The fact that this major company micro manages down to the last second. They bought over the insurance company and raised our rates and deductible.

Suggestions for improvement

Hire the correct amount of employees so the store can correctly and safely run

Work-Life Balance

They are as fair as possible considering the extreme under staffing

Career Development

I feel I'm ready to be trained for the next level, and still waiting

Overall compensation for your work

Can't afford the basic necessities

Environmental Friendliness

Everyone complains about the mile long receipt.

Workplace Safety

Well when you are already under staffed trying to do the job of several people how safe can it be

Teamwork

How much of a team is 2-3 closing employees

Support from management

I've been stuck in the same position for awhile now. Not enough "budget" for training.

Office / Work Environment

It has become a very hostile work environment

Job Security

It's corporate.....

Internal Communication

Always negative feedback from daytime employees

Freedom to work independently

Well with the under staffing you are working very independent

What I like

Really nothing

What I dislike

The training was absolutely disorganized and chaotic.
There was a condescending attitude from leads and managers.
At least 8 people of 20 dropped out of training within the first two weeks. And more followed after that.

Suggestions for improvement

Training needs major improvement!

EmployeeWorked in Distribution/sales at CVS Pharmacy in Boston, MA at the time of review.

What I like

My staff and the culture and change I have made for my patrons.

What I dislike

The lack of support from HQ about store front hours cut and man hours from budget.

Suggestions for improvement

Give the stores the tools need to do their jobs along with the staffing needed to give the best service possible.

Company Culture

Good work culture and you have to make your own in your own store and a manager myself I am on my own to create my own culture.

Company Image

Health and wellness.

Work-Life Balance

Cvs District Leaders day that management is to have a good work life balance but when the job needs to get done they don’t want excuses they want it done at all costs which includes sacrificing personal time.

Career Development

Always room to grow with this company.

Handicapped Accessibility

Always ADA compliant through out the store.

Overall compensation for your work

I am paid quite well for my title at the store for someone starting out quite new in the title.

Inclusive / Diverse

Yes there is regardless of color or creed there is a spot at CVS for you.

Environmental Friendliness

Yes there is always going to be that at cvs with the way they handle the waste.

Workplace Safety

Safety is a big deal at my store.

Teamwork

My team in my store will always work together to work out our own issues at store level.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Fine with all of the older colleagues just wish they could afford to retire.

Support from management

I always try to have good support for my staff and be there for them and there needs but I cannot say the same for upper management such as DL and RL

Office / Work Environment

Good work environment for a retail establishment.

Challenging Work

It can be from time to time but most days it’s easier than other jobs.

Job Security

Not to sure what the future holds for retail.

Internal Communication

I always communicate with my employees about what’s going on with the business and our agenda as a whole.

Gender Equality

Very much is this true there is opportunity for both and equal pay.

Freedom to work independently

Yes to an extent there is some uniformity with planograms and and setups for seasonal.

Management Team at the Call Center was a Joke!

3.3

Former EmployeeWorked at CVS Health in Chandler, AZ.

What I like

Offering different types of schedules, nice building, cafe inside, and covered parking

What I dislike

Mgmt, micromanaging, cheap on supplies and chairs, petty write ups

Suggestions for improvement

Mgmt and supervisors for stop writing up employees for petty reasons (take 1 year to fall off), get office chairs that actually support your hardworking employees backs, no excuses why all CSR’s at your call center locations shouldn’t be starting at $16 to $17 hourly, and finally get rid of all upper management and supervisors and replace them people we actually care, people person, patient, understanding, willing to listen, and want there team to succeed.

Company Culture

The company culture sounded good, but it didn’t live up to its hype instead it was a complete contradiction.

Company Image

Company Image is not the same behind the closed doors, is an disappointed with that still.

Work-Life Balance

My schedule was set with weekends off, they offered 3 weeks off (PTO), they require mandatory overtime the month of January even though it’s normally not that busy and we have to work 8 hours extra each week.

Career Development

You can work from home after 6 months (call center), if you meet expectations you are able to be promoted to a CSR II (6% raise), move to other lateral departments.

Handicapped Accessibility

They have handicapped parking spaces, and the building is pretty much handicapped friendly.

Overall compensation for your work

Pay to me was 5 out of 10, other customer service departments were making between $1 - $1.50 per hour more than FEP, Anthem, ATT, and commercial which never made sense to anyone.

Inclusive / Diverse

They’re supportive of LBGT, ALL cultures and races.

Environmental Friendliness

All the 3 stars are because of my fellow teammates they made our section feel welcomed and friendly.

Workplace Safety

They have security patrolling and were big on employee tailgating throughout the building, I always felt safe

Teamwork

Most of the “TEAMWORK” I experienced was from my fellow teammates via IM and in person helping each other, meanwhile mgmt just micromanaging and looking for someone to write up.

Attitude towards older colleagues

As far as I observed and noticed older colleagues were treated the same as younger colleagues.

Support from management

Support from mgmt was ridiculously a joke! I repeatedly voiced my concerns on how our Senior Team treats customer service reps (as well my teammates), Clinical Dept were mostly unwilling to help us as well, and our Trainer the first month was mean, sarcastic, and obnoxious. All my concerns went in one ear and out the other.

Office / Work Environment

It’s a call center so with being separated by cubicles to help cut down on noise, CVS is cheap when it comes to providing office supplies and office chairs (the back support on the chairs were broken) so my back was kinda hurting.

Challenging Work

Trying to pronounce the names of the prescriptions were challenging, at times dealing with angry members, and dealing with mediocre management was annoying.

Job Security

They were adding another big client Anthem of BCBS plus a few others.

Internal Communication

Overall the community was descent, we received daily emails on trending issues, procedure changes, and monthly center events. Mgmt sounded like Ben Stein mostly generic responses.

Gender Equality

Supervisors and upper management are mostly female only few males. They can do a better job of that to make balanced.

Freedom to work independently

For the most part my supervisor was “busy” and left me alone most of the time, but we were always being monitored. They had security cameras rolling, closely monitoring what AUX we were in. The freedom part doesn’t exist.

All about the money...

Former EmployeeWorked at CVS in Woonsocket, RI.

What I like

Nothing..... After I was laid off I had to seek out another pharmacy to purchase my meds because the cost was astronomical.

What I dislike

The way they handled their so called restructuring. Money was more important than people.

Suggestions for improvement

Care more about your employees than you did.

Career Development

Not much if you're being laid off.

Overall compensation for your work

Pay wasn't bad at first.... But since they purchased us they decided to move most departments to AZ to lower the wage. When I was rehired it came with a $7.00 pay cut. Then they sent that dept to AZ too.

Support from management

Management was just as much a revolving door as any other area. Hired unqualified individuals who basically got us laid off.

Job Security

I was laid off twice from 2 separate departments in a 1 year period.

Freedom to work independently

Micro-managing a bit too much.
