Support from Management
Way too much leadership for the size of the sales team. My direct supervisor was wonderful, but frankly everyone above him treated the sales reps like trash unless you were one of the 3% that was doing spectacular. Manufacturing isn't a great IT vertical. Management doesn't seem to research anything that employees tell them in regards to issues with the markets. Best accounts were reserved for senior reps... Even when A rep left often a manager in Syracuse could scoop up account for their friends... There is noone looking for new business except for you. Good luck researching a business to get your foot in the door then finding out corporate has it listed under another name and it belongs to someone else. Or getting an account that you make headway with and having it taken and given to a senior rep.
Suggestions for improvement
- Less meetings for one. The weekly numbers meetings could be an email. Better training. Having a training department that was actually successful sales reps for one and only handles training so is available to help. Ongoing training that isnt just talk. Interactive. True role plays. Feedback other than constant negativity. Not berating employees publicly. Management not favoring their friends. This is real bad in syracuse and really is hurting the fairport location. Hiring managers with management experience who know how to get things done and give constructive ideas. Having an improvement plab designed to help people improve and not just manage people out. It is extremely demoralizing.
