Overall compensation for your work
Benefits are outstanding. Compensation - acceptable but not in line with what quality employees deserve/earn.
Restructuring is not a risk to your job. People are relocated to another position. The real risk, is that you can/will be released with no prior warning of anything being viewed as unsatisfactory about you or the job you are doing. I worked here for ten years. I had a subordinate that was basically just an unhappy/disgruntled person in her life in general. However, she was charismatic enough to recruit three other subordinates (this was her real strength...she COULD'VE been a very good leader). Since she did not receive reviews results that she felt were warranted (which ironically enough, were actually out of my control due to my micromanaging superior), she pulled together this band of four people. To try to shorten this very long story.....the four banded together....presented outright LIES to the director of HR...they held their stories together and although there was nothing inappropriate about how I was doing my job, unless you count that I let them get away with a good amount of unprofessional behavior, because I did not want any of THEM to lose their jobs, I was released after ten years of PURE DEDICATION to this company. Just before this happened to me (two weeks prior??), several other long term, higher level employees were let go. No reason was provided to the general masses...they were just gone. Notably, ALL were over 40, all were making a higher wage when comparing to others in the company. I just don't care that much anymore. The first several years at this company were fine. They now have people that don't even know you, in positions that decide whether or not you keep your job. They clearly do not take any time/effort into investigating what type of employee you are, or I would still be there and so would several of the people who were let go just before I was. Just to prove this is not a 'sour grapes' review - I have AMPLE evidence to support a discriminatory separation, but I am not pursing a legal end. I was increasingly put off at what I was seeing going on around me and it was for the best that I left that atmosphere.
