Clients were diverse population which was great
Support from management
Absolutely not. The expectation was to do what you were told. The siNile most important issue was lack of training and not enough staff to work the floor.
No. There was a lack of team work among staff.
Yes, for the most part.
Attitude towards older colleagues
During my tenure, older workers had not been hired. There are two currently employed who have been there since the company open its doors.
Opportunities for professional development was offered but not encouraged by the director. You were so busy, you rarely got a half hour break. Attending training to help advance job skills or career opportunities was most difficult unless it was mandatory.
Overall compensation for your work
Compensation needs improvement. If you're working overtime daily & not being compensated, that ducks especially if you're exempt
Office / Work Environment
it often took maintenence awhile to get to your specific requestate which made the clients feel as if it was your fault, they were "too hot", something was broken, etc
No. Clients who needed community service, only did it if it was court ordered. They were not encouraged to have awareness for the environment let alone, participate in recycling initiatives.
I absolutely felt pressured to stay longer at work and rarely was able to clock out when scheduled. I have gotten up 2am to go to the job & worked on my day off especially if we were short staffed & no one would come in. I was not aware when hired, this was a requirement or part of my duties.
I was excited to work for Dacco
I absolutely loved that job. I learned so much about addiction , causes, treatments & the 12 steps to recovery.
Suggestions for improvement
- orientation is one day, that's not enough training or time to learn a job and meet expectations.
What I like about the company
Dacco is a residential treatment center for individuals battling addiction
What I dislike about the company
I never received training for the job I was hired to do. I trained myself. Management expected me to do the job without giving me the tools necessary to be successful
