Suggestions for improvement

  • Hire more people so that everyone isn't overworked. Better communication as the people lower on the ladder usually got blamed when things went wrong.

What I like about the company

It was a very collaborative environment and I did enjoy the people that I worked with. I learned a lot from working with patients. Additionally, I learned how different providers take care of their patients

What I dislike about the company

People gossip a lot and also the employees were overworked

Suggestions for improvement

  • better pay, overtime offered to hourly employees

What I like about the company

Amazing opportunities for independent work and growth

What I dislike about the company

Employees are only paid for 40hrs/week, and it is in our contracts that overtime is voluntary and will not be compensated. However the structure of the projects here take many more than 40hrs/week (usually a bare minimum of 50-60) and some employees work much more than that to get ahead. Overall the pay is poor, but consistent with other academic research institutions

Suggestions for improvement

  • Better admin but let's be honest it will always be about the patients. And that's how it should be :)

What I like about the company

The company likes to hire from within, so it's hard to get on the inside. However, I know people who've been at DFCI for over 20 years. It's an amazing place to work- it relies on its employees and all of their unique abilities. once you start working to ave someone's life, it's hard to think about doing anything else.

What I dislike about the company

People tend to have their way and their way only. It's amazing that people stay with with hospital for so long, but it's important to be flexible as new generations start to join the daily pool of people you see and interact with.
