Working at DFCI in patient-facing or patient-interacting roles is very reqarding, yet challenging.
Suggestions for improvement
- Increased flexibility would inevitably lead to great employee satisfaction and would likely decrease the currently high employee turnover rate. Also, there is not enough room for or opportunity for internal growth and advancement.
What I like about the company
Everyone at Dana-Farber is committed and passionate about the cause - treating and ultimately curing cancer. It is very rewarding to work in patient-facing/patient-interactive roles, yet can also be very challenging.
What I dislike about the company
Unfortunately, the company does not offer a tremendous deal of flexibility to staff - despite having the means to do so. This includes limited accessibility or ability to work remotely, no parking available on campus, poor work-life balance, etc. There are also many talented and highly renowned medical providers with difficult personalities whom you are often required to work with/for.
