- Darigold, Inc.06.Feb 2019
Not a good sign when your first week everyone asks why you would ever work at a company like Darigold.
Support from management
Management is not on the same page.
Constantly left out of the loop. Extremely frustrating as a member of the management team.
Women treated like assistants...
Attitude towards older colleagues
As a younger person it felt like more of an attitude from older colleagues to younger ones. More years of experience doesn't necessarily mean that you are the best at your job.
Overall compensation for your work
Being told you won't be compensated as much because it's a "smaller plant" doesn't seem right since you still have the same regulatory standard.
Office / Work Environment
Enjoyed many of my colleagues
Work life balance doesn't exist here.expected to work long hours and on call 24/7
Hear many bad rumors about the company before working here.
It's a dryer plant that's several stories tall and most areas are only accessible by stairs
Challenging due to lack of resources. This isn't food manufacturing in 1990, current day dairy manufacturing has stringent food safety regulatory standards and needs adequate staffing to effectively support programs required for compliance.
Inclusive / Diverse
Only 4 women worked on site out of over 50 employees
Suggestions for improvement
- Stop running bare bones operations.
What I like about the company
Decent benefits and lots of good people
What I dislike about the company
Lack of investment in resources at the plants - everyone is spread so thin and Can't focus on anything long enough to make significant improvements. Lots of weak programs glossed over with a show pony act.
