Company Culture

Great coworkers, revolving door management

Support from management

We need change in our department, bug executive management has historically been supportive. I just hope they recognize the changes that need to occur, soon.

Teamwork

My department has low morale, and little leadership. The reason we do well as nurses is most of us have been employed here a long time and function as a team, anyway.

Freedom to work independently

We are autonomous because that’s what an RN is expected to be, managers are not available or if they are, are of little help

Internal Communication

Poor communication from management, we are made aware of changes/information when they happen

Gender Equality

As far as I know, this is not an issue

Attitude towards older colleagues

We are all.able to transfer to other departments and I believe given a fair chance at promotions, regardless of age

Career Development

Always positions available, & growth opportunities

Overall compensation for your work

DH compensates very well compared to similar companies/hospitals

Office / Work Environment

Due to hiring additional providers and an ever increasing number of patients, our large group of employees and providers sit practically on top of each other, and often are short exam rooms

Environmental Friendliness

We do recycle,

Work-Life Balance

The work schedule is good, because it’s an outpatient clinic

Company Image

I am proud to work at DH, our department has suffered greatly due to poor leadership in the past 4-5 years, but it was so much better managed prior to that, and we all looked forward to coming to work. I believe it can be that way again, so I will remain a loyal employee

Handicapped Accessibility

Long walk from car to door for patients, no valet parking, 3 small elevators also used as service elevators, and often the automatic door openers are not working

Workplace Safety

Could be better, but satisfactory

Challenging Work

Taking care of patients is challenging

Inclusive / Diverse

Rarely asked what our opinions are, and if we are asked, not taken seriously

Suggestions for improvement

  • more office space - better handicap accessibility - experienced managers- stronger leadership - more day to day support - increase tuition reimbursement - match 401 k contributions -on site gym -on site day care

What I like about the company

I have been an employee at DH for over 10 years, I work with the best people in the world, and have good relationships with providers. I am compensated fairly and they are generous with paid time off. Other departments are running well, I believe, and my department used to as well. However, due to inexperienced managers who are not striving to be good leaders and advocates for us, my department is suffering. I am hoping things change soon, we have an involved “upper management “, who seems to be noticing our state and taking our concerns seriously, which is fairly new. I do not want to leave DH, so hoping positive changes happen soon.

What I dislike about the company

Only our day to day managers and clinical manager. I’m sure they have good intentions, but it’s a big department that needs leaders and staff advocates/supporters, I often feel management is not as involved or invested as they should be, and I’m not alone in that opinion.

Company Culture

In the outlying clinics, staff are petty and undermining. Very dog eat dog atmosphere. Management in these clinics is just as bad. Most of the management in the outlying clinics seem to believe they are above the regular staff, and don’t seem to understand (or don’t care) what it means to be a true leader.

Freedom to work independently

There used to be trust. Management has changed. Clinics within the Nashua region no longer have the same feeling of trust between management and staff. It’s changed a lot.

Internal Communication

Lebanon senior management send global emails to update all staff, hence the 3 stars. Communication within the various clinics needs work, however. Some staff wouldn’t be notified of meetings, then penalized for not attending. Some staff received email updates of staff changes, others did not. Not terribly reliable in this respect.

Work-Life Balance

No flexibility in the clinic which housed my office as far as alternative schedules. Being in the office Monday through Friday until 4 or 5 pm makes after school activities out of the question. Personal and children’s appointments are almost impossible to schedule without taking time off. Requests to switch to (4) 10 hour days were routinely denied despite the fact that many of the staff wanted this option.

Company Image

I like the organization immensely. I don’t believe the Nashua District’s shortfalls reflect the organization overall

Job Security

I never felt as though my position was stable. It was extremely stressful.

Challenging Work

Very difficult job which required deep concentration, outside-the-box thinking, and a great deal of organization.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Don’t keep staff, management included, just because of their length of employment.

What I like about the company

The organization as a whole is fantastic to its employees, but the smaller rural clinics seem to have lost sight of the organizational values.

What I dislike about the company

Employees who cause problems with others are kept despite their outbursts and bad attitudes just because they’ve been employed there for a number of years. Employees are treated well as long as they don’t voice complaints or speak up about managements wrong doings.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Working in an medical environment is a big responsibility, we need to make sure patients are well taken care of, but what about the health of the hospital employees? Well employees are not consider as important when it comes to their health and they dont take the time to inform employees about there benefits and what would work better considering their condition. My suggestion will be to take care of they're employees, they are also human, if they are not helped how can they get better to continue doing what they do best, helping others. I am currently Disabled I was given a very hard time. I was very dissapointed after working almost ten years, and I was given a lot of run around when it was time to talk about my benefits.

What I like about the company

What I enjoyed the most about my job was learning something new everyday. My job was never boring, you never knew what was going to happened in a days work, that's how it is when you work in the medical field, it was always something different.

What I dislike about the company

When you are a hard worker, and someone new comes in with different intentions and or aspirations of being in a higher position, taking credit for other co worker's hard work. When meetings are requested to discuss the problems in your department, they take days for a response. After that was done with all the run around the person that requested the meeting was acussed of avoiding confrontation. WHAT!!!!
