Company Culture

It is a do as I say, not as I do atmospher. You will learn very quickly that you either play the game or be signaled out. No trust at all in "management"!!

Support from management

The supervisor is very unprofessional. You receive insults with a smile. She has access to read all emails and skype communication and uses it against workers. She and "management" talk about workers. There is a lot of whispering that goes on. It's kind of like high school with the mean girls. Employees is asked opinions are shamed or pressured to not go against what the supervisor sets in place. You are outed as having a bad attitude and disrespectful if you disagree with the Supervisor. Opinions of the workers do not matter. Should be negative star rating!!

Teamwork

The atmospher is set by the section/shift Supervisors, which seem to be cliquish. You "may" have one or two people that you can count on.

Freedom to work independently

The workload is not distributed fairly and the Supervisor does not ensure that it is. As long as the work is getting done.....

Internal Communication

you usually only hear when things are not being done correctly, and only addressed as a group. You may receive a back handed compliment though.

Gender Equality

Males are treated with more respect and higher regard. Positions have been created for males. Only after a senior female complained and pointed out her qualifications, was a change made. Although the transition was done very insensitively and improperly.

Attitude towards older colleagues

There are a few employees who have tenure, who have been treated in a disrespectful manor. One in particular has been in tears after being chastised by the supervisor.

Career Development

After the initial week, maybe two, there is no training, just trial by error. Unless the supervisor likes you, there is no room for growth.

Overall compensation for your work

There have been annual bonuses. It does not matter your work effort, CSRs get paid the same. Newly created position (new male, friend of supervisor) pay is unknown, but most likely more then the CSRs.

Office / Work Environment

The computers are new and well maintained by IT. There is mold in the building from leaking roofs, which is being inhailed daily.

Environmental Friendliness

Upper management is not aware of how the company is being run on a lower level. This location is fairly new with the aquisition of Temple and Z Tags. There is no other baseline to compare besides what has been done over the last year or so. Workers feel no one cares.

Work-Life Balance

There are set hours. The HR section Jac just been created, so the bare minimum is now being done in regards to labor laws and standards, only after backlash.

Company Image

With the new aquisition of Temple and Z Tags, Datamars has other holdings. The company being international and as a whole seems to be great, but the Temple locations image is not well.

Job Security

There is no job security. If the supervisor does not like you, you are talked about, mass emails are sent out and you feel without any rehab training that your job is in jeopardy daily. The only reason you have comfort is knowing that the workload is there, so "management" needs you.

Handicapped Accessibility

There are I believe two handicap parking spaces. I do not believe that it is wheelchair accessable.

Workplace Safety

The bare minimum is done. The ventilation and mold levels should be inspected.

Challenging Work

You are proud when you maintain and build great relationships with the customers, ensuring they receive a quality product in a timely matter.

Inclusive / Diverse

It depends on the section that you are in. They have gotten better with hiring over the last year or so.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Datamars should send out an anonymous work survey/questionnaire to get an idea of the Temple location atmosphere. An actual office manager who does not report to the current CSR supervisor should be hired. If you treat your employees with the same respect you expect, they will work harder for you, provided they have work integrity themselves.

What I like about the company

A few great people make the Temple location successful.

What I dislike about the company

Unless you are in good with the supervisor and even then that is questionable, you feel uneasy day in and day out. You have to learn by trail and error. If training is requested or suggested, it is represented where you feel more punished than anything, where you in turn decline it.
