- Are you a Current or Former Employee?Former job since 2016
During my 10 years, I never experienced any if tjus, but did hear from other department people that is was common. Just not in data processing.
No support and expenses not covered if late being submitted
None, and management is closed minded to suggestions of any kind
In my 40 years I have never experienced such a lack of this.
Only if nepotism is involved
Negative, only new college graduates hired and senior people face termination or stagnant position.
Very select people in this category and the normal procedure is new college graduates hired
This was the lowest paying position that I have ever experienced in my lifetime. Normally my level of expertise has a renumeration of over two times Dawson pay schedule. But I was under the impression that people left Dawson in a pine box. Far from the truth, only a sales pitch to potential employees and people with seven plus years. We were told that it's like the "rabbit and turtle racing" slow but steady.
This aspect was good for clients, looks can be deceiving
Occasionally, but in each case the effects of overall costs vs legal aspects is considered
Poor. If manager's are in working, everyone is expected to be in doing the same. Overall I worked on average 20 hours a week more than others, not including time worked at home and over the weekend. They knew that I would do whatever it took to meet deadline and or finish a project without sacrificing the quality and ALL my clients knew that and appreciated my extra as well as my honest approach, even if it meant that we could not do the work and lost the bid.
The image is far from reality
I am living proof, yes.
None as my departure
Yes, I always felt well about my work and my abilities to shine against competitive other companies
Negative, it's one way or wrong. Always push the red button first before the yellow button, without exception.
Opportunity to teach others and help
Poor management skills, renumeration very slow as well as extremely low
Some old friends work there
micro manage, very low pay, VP positions like in a bank (too many), no communication, never do what they say, responsible for own expenses, expense payments can be 90 days before receiving, lack of technology, data processing still in the 70's, poor management, no support from managers, required to be on call 24/7 by phone at your own expense, software outdated in 90's, believes they understand land processing, no knowledge of marine, lack of leadership, lack of understanding of AVO, inversion, unable to perform depth, unable to work well-logs into processing, poor understanding of simple statics solution, unable to see the value of people who do understand geophysics, I could continue, but you get the picture. If the industry will ever turn around I can get a real job with a company who can and will appreciate my knowledge. Currently it is either their way or the highway.
