Hostile Work environment driven by Management with Unrealistic Goals, Lack of Leadership, and inadequate resources.
Supervisors and managers play the blame game. No understanding of fairness or trust.
Support from management
Leadership promises help and support but never gives anything.
There is no understanding of teamwork by the management team.
Freedom to work independently
employees are assigned duties of responsibility that are related to their job description.
Employees are often never told the truth but instead told lies to hide the truth or suppress issues.
Most employees do not get career opportunities especially for advancement. Management takes great time and effort pointing out flaws and missed goals
Attitude towards older colleagues
Many older employees are forced into early retirement or laid off in favor of younger less experienced people who they can pay far less.
Employees are rarely offered opportunities for further training. Training that is offered is usually inadequate.
Overall compensation for your work
Wages and salaries do not match responsibilities. Employees are consistently added responsibilities but never compensated. Generally when someone is laid off or quits, an employee is added the responsibility of that person and a replacement is never hired.
Office / Work Environment
Due to the nature of the business there is a good culture of safety and proper working conditions
Another culture that seems to be based on the requirements of the business to meet the laws but no more.
Certain positions have no help or backup. Many times an employee may go weeks without a day off. In the managements eyes, employees should put the job first and family shouldn't be considered. But the managers will take weeks at a time off.
The company tried to put up a good image to the public, but when talking to the employees, there are rarely any who talk favorably about the company or the way they treat employees.
There was never any real job security. Positions were eliminated based on a manager not liking an employee more than financial or organization restructuring
Due to the nature of the business, those with disabilities were not able to access many areas due to safety.
The company does provide sufficient training to ensure an accident-free workplace, but many areas do not meet the OSHA standards
I feel proud of my work and proud of my accomplishments, but anger and frustration on the paths required and forced on by management
Inclusive / Diverse
The company does preaches inclusiveness and diversity, but does not practice.
Suggestions for improvement
- Complete organizational restructure from top down to build a better working environment and culture that is fare and just
What I like about the company
I enjoyed many of the employees I worked with, the projects I was able to work on, and some of the challenges of those projects.
What I dislike about the company
Managers taking a draconian approach to management and them not taking responsibility for anything.
