Suggestions for improvement

  • Staff that has been there for many years will not adjust to new Welfare Reform and need to be fired and new staff hired.

I enjoy the children and families.

The workload is too extreme. Supervisors and the manager do not support the workers. Workers are either fired or run off, by making the workload too difficult. There is a revolving door with the newly hired staff and only one out of 10 employees make it for over the six month training period due to inadequate training.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Create one particular area of expertise; e.g., one specified individual do purchases, one do case plans, one do home studies, and etc. Restructure initial training to more specific job tasks that will actually be performed. Do not tell employees that their job may not be for them. (This is told to every new trainee). If a worker cannot carry work load, subtract cases from their responsibility. Employees do not need to carry work home to complete.
