Company Culture

Unhealthy, toxic work environment.

Support from management

Revolving door leadership. Lack of any communications, planning or any other leadership.

Teamwork

Toxic atmosphere leads where everyone is afraid for their jobs leads to backstabbing and distrust among employees.

Freedom to work independently

No clear job definitions or responsibilities.

Internal Communication

Don't expect any communication, on anything.

Gender Equality

Equality is not one of the bigger issues there.

Attitude towards older colleagues

Age discrimination is also not a major issue.

Career Development

Advancement opportunities are virtually non-existent.

Overall compensation for your work

Salaries can be decent, but raises are almost non-existent and bonuses are not tied to reviews of any kind. Healthcare contributions are legal minimum and there's no 401k match.

Office / Work Environment

Typical NYC offices, small, cramped spaces, with too many people sharing space.

Environmental Friendliness

Claim to be a family-oriented organization, but it's not your family they are concerned about.

Work-Life Balance

Minimum PTO. When Jewish holidays fall during the work week they "encourage" staff to make up for the day off by coming in on Sunday.

Company Image

They project a family-friendly, family owned business that cares about infants and children, but employees are not treated with respect.

Job Security

Most employees are constantly worried about being fired without any warning.

Handicapped Accessibility

Elevators are available.

Workplace Safety

Office locations are just office space; manufacturing takes place abroad, so safety issues in offices are not a major concern.

There are plenty of challenges, but most of them aren't work related.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Contribute to the health care plans so employees can afford to participate, match at least 3% of 401k contributions. Listen to your employees, don't just believe the incompetent management.
