Support from management
4 supervisors, one of which is quite lazy.
Suggestions for improvement
- Quit outsourcing and hire for the actual company and not the subsidiary getting tax breaks paying poverty wages.
What I like about the company
For $75/yr you get flight benefits; flying stand by only.
What I dislike about the company
Wages start at just over minimum wage, 8.75/hr and cap at 10.35/hr.
Health Insurance for employee plus one is $1200/month.
Delta outsources ALL their operations on regional aircraft and mainline planes at certain stations, tvc being 1 of them.
Delta then OWNS outsourced companies.
Employees working for outsourced companies are paid 1/2 of what a Mainline employee is paid doing 3-4 times the work because Dgs employees are cross trained, meaning you're trained for working the Ramp, Ticket Counter, Gate, Baggage, & Cargo.
With each new training you are NOT eligible for an increase in wages.
Outsourced companies don't just do the operations for Delta, they also do all the operations for United Airlines.
You have to learn to run 2 completely different systems, do you get paid more after learning sop for 2 different airlines? Nope.
You're accuracy, and job knowledge puts the responsibility of every passenger and crew member on board onto you.
One example:
The weight measurements and placement you give the captain prior to departure can cause the aircraft to go down if incorrectly submitted.
You work outside in the rain, freezing cold, snow, hot, high humidity, etc.
You start work as early as 3:30 am and as late as 2am. You're subject to split shifts, example:
3:30am - 8:30am
10:30am - 7:30pm
