We're regularly observed and given constructive feedback.
This is a female dominated field, but my Male principal is awesome.
Lesson preparation takes up a great deal of my time at home with my family. I go home exhausted, and have to prep for the next day.
I'm a proud teacher and generally like my job.
My workplace isn't wheelchair accessible but students with abilities are given the resources they need.
It can be stressful managing 25 students of various learning styles and personalities.
Suggestions for improvement
- All first year teachers should have mentors and necessary resources.
What I like about the company
I work at a school in the community in which I grew up so I relate to the population. This makes a world of difference when selecting a school to work at. Having level-headed,approachable administration also helps. We have a union to represent us, and a union representative on site.
What I dislike about the company
You're basically thrown in the classroom when you first start, and may or may not have a mentor your first year.
