My teammates are grea and committed
Lots of political shenanigans
Freedom to work independently
Chain of command is a challenge
Not enough real examples shared
Still has a strong good ol' boy network mentality
Attitude towards older colleagues
Lots of opportunities to try new things and reinvent yourself
Very dependent on who you know, demonstrates favoritism
Office / Work Environment
Facilities are old
Still lots that could be done
Much better than private industry
Very good at accommodating people with disabilities
Complicated regulations and processes are challenging, lack of true leadership is a problem
Inclusive / Diverse
They talk the talk, but there are still areas where diversity is lacking
Suggestions for improvement
- Eliminate layers of management and permit employees to fail with fear of reprisal in order to allow for innovation. Talk about those failures and how they led to future successes.
What I like about the company
Challenging work and an important mission.
What I dislike about the company
The political culture that is hard to change. There is a disconnect between senior leadership and the rest of the workforce. Need to become more agile and flexible, with clear improvements in accountability needed.
