Suggestions for improvement
- I have no complaints about where i work
The VAMC ensures its employees are healthy in a holistic manner. The entity hires veterans and make the necessary accommodations so that he/she can be successful in the position hired for. As a veteran, I have been able to take care of my medical issues as needed due to injuries incurred while active duty without being penalized when away from work. I am grateful for the team that I currently work for because we work together and ensure that if one of us is out of the office, the work is handled to prevent the individual returning from being overwhelmed. I have been a participant in this issue on both sides and it's rewarding to know that others in your division has your back. As a veteran I also like the perk of being able to have the time served in the military count towards retirement. I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to my fellow veterans and being in the midst of them also allows the assurance that they are being cared for properly. I can honestly say the Bill Hefner Medical Center places the veteran first and always seeking ways to make our service better.
