Support from management
No goals, nothing in writing, little to no coaching or training. No yearly performance review. Head physician makes someone cry almost weekly. Most employees are very unhappy with management.
There is resentment and "each man for himself" attitude. Some areas have a problem with teamwork and would rather stab you in the back than be helpful. Better hope they like you, if not it gets ugly.
There are 2 office meetings a year and they are focused on problems. Little direction on how to improve things. Employees are afraid to speak up or give feedback. No weekly or monthly memos, no recognition for a job well done.
Attitude towards older colleagues
They hire older workers. There is a general lack of respect.
No career path or advancement.
Overall compensation for your work
Dermatology MA's have more duties and responsibilities of any doctor office and they are not paid accordingly in this office.
Office / Work Environment
There is not enough storage space, the office is too small. Not enough work spaces to go around. Broken chairs, old equipment and it is an ice box.
This office has a great reputation. Not sure it will continue as there have been complaints that the providers are rushed and do not spend enough time with the patients. That is due to them earning a bonus for seeing more patients. Its all about the money.
