How would we describe the company culture?

Newly hired associates often tell us about how they knew DDI was the right organization for them early on. Three themes always come out on top:

  1. Our strategy. Appreciation of DDI’s transparency and sharing of information related to our business strategy and priorities
  2. Our culture. Emphasizes collaboration, teamwork and service to help our clients succeed
  3. Our focus on development. DDI helps their associates grow, both professionally and personally, experiencing some of the same valuable solutions we offer to our clients

We believe career growth and continuous learning are critical components and come in many different forms. We like to think of them as adventures. At DDI, the traditional career ladder is more like a lattice, where adventures can take you in any direction. Sometimes an adventure might take you to another function, role, or even location. Other times, the adventure might be shorter term. Adventures make you more versatile, increasing your breadth and depth of knowledge and experience while helping you find or apply your passion.

What else should applicants know about us?

DDI believes that career growth and continuous learning are critical components to developing and retaining our associates. Those growth and learning opportunities can come in many different forms. We like to think of them as adventures. At DDI, the traditional career ladder is more like a lattice, where adventures can take you in any direction. Sometimes an adventure might take you to another function, role, or even location. Other times, the adventure might be shorter term and have you taking on a new responsibility or working on a new project team while remaining in your current role. Either way, the adventures make you more versatile, increasing the breadth and depth of your knowledge and experience while helping you find or apply your passion.

We encourage our associates to take charge of their adventures and the career development that follows. DDI is committed to creating the culture, support, and development programs needed for effective career growth while always ensuring that an individual's career progression is aligned with business needs.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Change your management style and conflict resolution practices for the greater good. Otherwise, additional people like me will be more than happy to keep posting the truth.

What I like about the company

Most coworkers are good people, generally.

What I dislike about the company

The company's soul is rooted in its history of leadership development and its "practice what we preach" bravado. It's human capital management, human resource management, and management style is far from stellar, treating any employee with the utmost disrespect once someone with "power" decides they want someone gone (justified or not) -- Management is clothed as an empathetic wolf but drenched in nasty, smelly, passive-aggressive sweat. Watch your back and steer clear. This company, comprised of a plethora of egotistical organizational psychologists, is a powder keg of animosity and paranoia. It seeps into your skin if you stay too long.
