Freedom to work independently
You largely get to create your own work schedule and can telework when needed.
The employee composition of DDRC is probably 80% women and 20% men and many of the top tier positions are held by women.
All raises and promotions at DDRC are based on the amount of professional development an employee accrues.
Overall compensation for your work
Hard category to assess. The pay is not good and there's hardly any chances for pay increases. The benefits, vacation time, and schedule flexibility are amazing though.
Supporting people with developmental disabilities is federally mandated. While specific jobs may go away, overall, jobs here are quite secure.
The company serves people with disabilities.
Suggestions for improvement
- Less emphasis on billable time. More salaried, instead of hourly positions. Pay increases based on performance rather than on professional development credits.
What I like about the company
Flexible schedule, the work we do is meaningful, committed employees, stable government supported industry.
What I dislike about the company
Very low compensation for the amount employees work, understaffed in many departments, must clock out for lunch so most employees don't take lunch breaks. Huge focus on billable time over how we're best serving people with disabilities.
