I loved Dillards. It was absolutely the best retail job I have ever had and j have worked for other Bigger names. Dillards is still very mom and pop oriented. Not staying open the crazy insane mall hours, thanksgiving and holidays. That is something very important in the day in age, where many retailers r taking away family time from their employees on holidays and Dillards refuses to jump on that band wagon to make extra money. There is something to be said about that.
Support from Management
It depends on the current store manager that is in place. I had 2 different managers during my time there. I got along fine with both. However, 2nd manager was phenominal in all areas and was eventually promoted. I will let you know Dillards is all about numbers, it is a very competitive work place for associates. If you are not meeting/exceeding numbers, you will be let go. However, this is a job that pays you well, and is a nice environment. You should work to get paid, right?! So, with that being said, their are many reports printed daily, touch bases with your employees in your dept and times when you have to let people go who dig themselves into a deficit.
