Only when representing the tires stores. Corporate is a completely different ballgame.
Job is stable because mgmt does not hold anyone accountable. High trust is the motto, but low results is the result.
Available as they should be.
Office safety is average, at best. On-site nurse, but doubtful many folks know it as she sits behind a closed door all day in a remote part of the building.
Suggestions for improvement
- Promote managers with experience and vision, not based on seniority, balance of demographics or who are dating other managers/directors. Tell HR to come out from behind their doors and meet the employees they represent. Establish career paths for non-store employees. Create a managerial training track BEFORE promoting. Do not allow managers to step back down to subordinate role. Hold employees accountable to produce measurable results, not the WIG. Teach managers how to manage and effectively communicate.
What I like about the company
Nice building. A couple of company parties/events each year.
What I dislike about the company
Culture is stale and outdated. Front-end (stores) heavy, no respect for support teams, especially IT. 43 'C' level, VP and Senior VPs. Only 1 is from IT. Business has no idea what it takes to provide technical support. Business managers & VPs do not understand volatile process functionality. No business process designs exist. Hence, business flow from one department to another is generally unknown.
