They talk out both sides of their mouths. To listen to management everyone is a valued employee; but if you are not meeting all the goals they have set for you you can be guaranteed that you'll get coached along with that coaches being considered your verbal, next you'll get a written warning and 3rd time your fired. Also back in the latter part of 2014 and early 2015 it appeared as if they were specifically getting rid of all the older employees. I was out for 3 months on a medical disability and when I returned 4 older co-workers that was on my team where no longer employed there and upon my return I realized that I was being targeted to also be terminated. It's funny that for 7 1/2 years I had always reach or exceeded my goal numbers then suddenly I wasn't meeting them, yet I was doing everything the same as before. Proving it was impossible since I was not in management.
Support from management
Only if you were considered one of the chosen ones to be groomed for another position that would help that team leader be recognized by upper management.
Low morale and unable to trust your team leader; lead to a miserable team environment
Freedom to work independently
Yes you had your own telephone/desk cubicle and you were answering calls so you could say we worked independently.
Management would tell you one thing then turn around and say something entirely different so what and who do you believe.
Since there are more women than men and the majority of managers/team leaders are women equality doesn't appear to be a problem
Attitude towards older colleagues
As I stated before they have eliminated a lot of the older employees. So what do you think the attitude towards older employees are.
Other than educational reimbursement didn't see any
Overall compensation for your work
Not enough for the abuse you have to put upwith
Office / Work Environment
The lighting could e improved and the air ducts are terrible; depending on where you set you can either freeze from the air conditioning or burn up as nothing is blowing towards you.
The only thing that I ever saw was the alternative computing program. They used to help those who rode public transportation by giving employees a card that took care of the cost, employees paid nothing but this was eliminated.
They didn't care about your life or needs; totally about what they wanted.
For a credit card company that also does home loans and student loans and checking accounts you only hear and see their advertisements on the credit card.
This is laughable ; not enough parking spaces, only 1 or 2 restrooms that have handicapped stalls, only 1 entrance into the building if you use a wheelchair or have a large walker; which is really hard if you're work area is clear on the opposite side of the building.
I always felt safe.
Oh it's challenging being yelled at, cussed out. Constantly talked over on phone calls where the customers are ignorant but you don't know what you're talking about, yet we're the emplaned they callous
Inclusive / Diverse
Only upper management
Suggestions for improvement
- Eliminate the open floor plan, it's hard enough to hear the customers without hearing the employees that sit
What I like about the company
Good insurance and 401 k
What I dislike about the company
The negativity shown to their employees.
