Everybody’s micromanaged. Tons of redundant reports. There’s absolutely NOT one black person that work at the corporate office.
Support from management
They pretend to have your back when they have you perform a task, if it’s wrong they slam you and throw you under the bus during the weekly corporate calls, but if it’s right they take full credit.
The corporate people constantly push an unhealthy competition between the people you work with daily.
Freedom to work independently
Never. This is not an option. Constantly looking over your shoulder and nick picking.
Everybody constantly wants a report that they can pull themselves. Emails come all day long and they expect an immediate response.
Most of the site managers are women, and corporate positions like accountants are white men, Vice President and presidents are white men. You decide if it’s equal.
Attitude towards older colleagues
They hire younger whites for corporate positions and older for site positions.
Lots of training that will help you at another company that appreciates you.
Overall compensation for your work
They pay decently but overwork you. And if you’re not careful, they will cheat you out of money they promised you. Get everything in writing because they will lie.
Office / Work Environment
Usually one main office and an assistant office somewhere in the back next to a copier.
I’m sure there’s an earth day email somewhere.
The motto is: if you get divorced and your kids hate you, here’s a bonus check. Ask a regional manager.
They make it look like gold in the outside. But everything that glitters.....
If you’re a reject and need training and molding to be a puppet, you’ll have a job forever.
They review reasonable accommodations.
They usually have security that’s underpaid and treated poorly so they let people’s apartments get broken into.
Only a challenge because of the last minute reports they pull out of the air.
Inclusive / Diverse
Did I mention there’s no black people that work at corporate, but only lower level site positions? One Asian lady in accounts payable and the other 50 positions are filled by white men and women.
Suggestions for improvement
- Limit the micromanaging. Give people the bonuses you promise without changing the structure and payout after the goal has been achieved. Stop dangling carrots on a string in front of your employees.
