Suggestions for improvement
- Tell NBC Universal to let us run us. They bought us because they like our product, our product reflects who we are! Quality! If you turn us into robots you are going to get a different crop of people who are going to make a different type of movie. You're killing your own investment! Again, our policy was 'someone here will take care of that ASAP' and Universal says 'do it yourself'. PTO tracking? Do it by HAND by department. Benefits? TRIPLE the price with impossible to use coverage. Help desk? Call IT. IT? Call help desk. When it was us someone fixed your issue RIGHT THERE or GOT the person who WOULD immediately fix it. Immediately! Why do they insist on cutting all services that help us be able to do our jobs? SO confusing the mind of big business.
What I like about the company
My boss is the best part. He's SO SMART and he's AMAZING at managing people, he's so encouraging and wants people to move up, even if it means moving away, but hopefully moving UP. Our culture is our people, we celebrate EVERYTHING and are like a big family, set up for everyone to help each other do their part so you can focus on what you need to do. NBC U's motto is 'do it yourself' so it's been a very hard transition being taken over by them. But as long as my boss is around I'm good!
What I dislike about the company
Pay has never been competitive, but now since NBC Universal took over, the benefit prices are SKYROCKETING and they are taking away TONS of our perks, so the pay is essentially being REDUCED. So we've been losing tons of folks on top of the ones they laid off after the merger. So NBCU is my constructive feedback, they don't respect people as people. They just see us as a work force of numbers. Literally, they took away our names and we are NUMBERS to them.
