They tell you its a family team environment but then managers start playing favorites, feeding people better leads, etc. On top of that its too much constant change. Every week its some new policy/rule change. Upper management doesn't empower store management so all they do is let the shit roll down hill which turns into extreme micro management.
Support from management
Again, if you speak up about things you dont agree with, whether respectfully or disrespectfully, you will have a target on your back and that will be all she wrote. Not only I but multiple employees have been forced out because of this. Not too mention they enjoy gossiping and making fun of older employees who can't keep up with the pace of the office at times.
Management plays the role well but once they feel slighted or just don't like you, the teamwork suddenly disappears. Because of this the culture becomes less about teamwork and more like a traditional dealership, dog eat dog.
Freedom to work independently
As mentioned before, you are micromanaged down to the letter and have to report your every move.
Monotonous. Same emails every day. Team meetings its the same thing every time. And when upper management comes they do their best to patronize you and make you feel like they are with you in the trenches while trying to sell you on corporate ideals.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Makes fun of them, not supportive.
If you meet the numbers and want to move up you can, you just have to relocate out to no mans land for a while.
Office / Work Environment
You honestly end up not knowing who to trust. Definitely can't trust management unless you're a brown noser.
You're a salaried employee that will be scheduled to work 45+ hours a week for no additional pay. On top of that you are expected to stay late depending on customer volume in the store, no matter what time you're scheduled to get off and even just trying to leave on time when its slow is a crime.
Smoke and mirrors
They have been on a firing binge the past year. Every few months they find a reason to purge veteran employees that don't agree with their new company vision.
Inclusive / Diverse
It was very mixed when I was hired. Black, white, asian. Then it turned into a White Frat house. And now the only two minority sales, myself included, advisers have left.
Suggestions for improvement
- Promote leaders, not star sales people.
What I like about the company
The job is not hard and can make great money when its busy. Base salary plus commission.
What I dislike about the company
Constant change, too much potential for influence over someone's commission, lack of consideration for people's time
