Suggestions for improvement
- Stop hiring incompetent people to run the store. Have better policies in place to help your employees who help you make those billions of dollars. PAY BETTER THAN MINIMUM WAGE AT THE VERY LEAST
What I like about the company
The fact that I can't think of anything other than a paycheck should be an indicator
What I dislike about the company
Health risks are not counted before taking on a task. Micromanagement is insane (mind you I've been there a year and know almost everything, especially my tasks). You basically handle many different jobs under the facade of one position (you are the cleaning crew, you are security, you get managerial tasks sometimes without manager pay; refusing gets your job threatened and some of us need our jobs in this economy).
In my current experience, we have a awful store manager who doesn't let ANYONE transfer to other stores, and it's impossible to go around him to his boss or higher, as they both need to sign off on the transfer. The Union is useless and just takes employee money, in this regard. Also have a disrespectful boss who can't even pretend to appreciate his workers, and curses for a 'church man'. Management does not train employees, so you better hope your coworkers know their stuff. I was supposed to get to be a Shift Leader after a year (company policy is at least 1 year), and supposedly his current managers were supposed to train me, but literally can't get the time to do it because of everything he assigns, and then suddenly there is no longer a promotion. I've witnessed him do this to empoyees who have been there longer than me. I had opportunities to free myself from this shameful place, but thinking of my career waited for the promotion opportunity, and now it feels like it was for nothing and I'm trapped.
If I could go back in time, I would never take this job. SAVE YOURSELF STAY AWAY
