company claims to be supportive of all employees and train them to make them experts in the industry but when it comes down to it they fail to train the employees in the correct manner and will jump the gun to write up employees when they are not trained completely and once you receive one write up they look for any and everything to continue to write up employees
Support from management
there is very little to no support from management. all they look at is what will cut costs and save the most money and not what is needed by each store. each store is short at least 2 employees of what would make things run smoothly on a daily basis and the store managers are of no use to anyone as 95% of them just sit in the office doing much of nothing all day
teamwork within the company is well below average. a majority of the employees at the store level do not want or have the capability of working with one another. they all look out for themselves and don't make the effort to do more than the bare minimum.
communication is decent with the company when it comes from area managers, regional managers along with corporate employees. communication from within the stores is average at best. store managers have a tendency not to communicate with all employees regarding important issues/topics
no career development as most of the members of management within the store have been with the company for well over 10 years and there are not enough stores opening to allow for proper development and growth
Overall compensation for your work
the pay is decent for what you think you are getting into before you get hired. once you realize what they want you to do and have you doing daily you soon realize you are underpaid severely.
work-life balance is nice if you are luck enough to either close daily of not be required to work both Saturday and Sunday. if you are one of the unlucky employees that has to open and be at the store at 5am daily you are not able to have much of a life outside of work mainly due to having to be up at 4am or earlier.
work is extremely challenging especially when you are understaffed along with not having the proper training to make thins run smoothly
Suggestions for improvement
- the company needs to get feedback from the employees in a way they feel so they won't feel they will be punished for speaking up.
What I like about the company
some of the contractors that you meet and develop relationships with are nice along with the fact the stores close at 5pm Monday-Saturday
What I dislike about the company
the lack of leadership, politics, favoritism, lack of flexibility from store managers
