Suggestions for improvement
- There needs to be a sense of unity, of enthusiasm for common interests and responsibilities, as developed among a group of persons closely associated in a task. Teamwork is the glue which keeps a team together, a bond which promotes strength, unity, reliability and support. Teamwork is also the oil that makes the team work. It can enable smoother movement towards targets, can prolong forward momentum and can help teams to overcome obstacles. Teamwork has the potential to underpin so much of what is valuable in work. In fact, the benefits to be gained from teamwork synergies are essential for the effective management of resources. Teamwork creates synergy, where the sum is greater than the parts. It supports a more empowered way of working, removing constraints which may prevent someone doing their job properly. It promotes flatter and leaner structures, with less hierarchy. It encourages multi-disciplinary work where teams cut across organizational divides. It fosters flexibility and responsiveness, especially the ability to respond to change. It pleases customers who like working with good teams. It promotes the sense of achievement, equity and camaraderie, essential for a motivated workplace. If managed properly, it is a much better way to work.
What manages a happy company is a good manager. Unfortunately, DuPage County Probation and Court Services is full of unhappy people producing unhappy service, which may lead to deteriorating profitability. Probation Officers wander around the company working for one lousy manager after another. Probation Officers learn a lot from negative role models. The recognition is from friends who come to your aid and stay with you, during trying times. What matters is working with a few close friends, people you respect, knowing that if times did turn bad, these people would hold together. Of course, not all teams are not made up of friends. Just as it's one thing to join a team, but quite another to perform as a team member. To put it simply, teams do not work without teamwork and DuPage County Probation has no idea to develop unique individual strengths and compliment those strengths.

Unfortunately, there is nothing I can think of that I like about working at DuPage County Probation and Court Services.
What I dislike about the company
Teamwork - the cooperative work done by a team, the ability to work efficiently as a team, in the interest of a common cause. Unfortunately, there is no common cause in the office. Everyone appears to be out for their own. For teamwork, you need trust, openness and cooperation. At this point in time, there is no trust or openness between staff members and management. Teamwork is intimately connected with leadership. The atmosphere here is an "us vs. them," atmosphere. There is no sense of unity in this office.
