They try to act as though they CARE but they don't provide an atmosphere in which they actually care.
It's a very everyone for themselves atmosphere
Office / Work Environment
I work from home so luckily I get the opportunity to control my environment when home. When in the office the lighting is horrible, there's the same sick dry air rotating through the entire office, it's very difficult to stay well here as most don't properly wash their hands or clean their areas. Its usually pretty warm year round so a fan is definitely needed. However, there are days where a blanket is needed as well.
Your off time is accrued, so you receive 3 hours of vacation and 3 hours of sick time per PAY PERIOD. They tend to say that you have to take care of yourself but they don't provide the time off to do so.
For the amount of time and energy I give to this employer I could do the same for myself. It appears advancement is a bit difficult.
Suggestions for improvement
- I would make improvements to the way pto is calculated, providing at least 16 hours per pay period. I would give more time for breaks, lunch, and wellness. I'd implement a yoga or relaxation room where you could meditate and recharge. Classes throughout the day could rejuvenate and even alleviate our anxiety and allow us to provide the best possible care.
What I like about the company
Occasionally we have gotten free pizza. Other than that there are a few choice individuals that have become more than coworkers. Sometimes you'll come across a really sweet soul when speaking to patients. Immediate management can also be very helpful as well as supportive.
What I dislike about the company
I disapprove of the amount of away time we receive. Especially when dealing with healthcare there shouldn't be a problem with having time for yourself. There should be two 25 minute breaks and a one hour lunch break. For every 80 hours of time worked you should receive at least 16 hours per pay period, 8 of vacation and 8 of sick/personal time. There is little time spent on training. We may benefit from more paid, catered lunch trainings.
