It's all about the profit. Not about the people who make for them.
It's about who you can screw to get to the top.
Freedom to work independently
They trust the Drivers, but fall short.
Information is sent to those who need to know period. If you aren't in the loop your SOL.
Unknown about gender equally.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Yes most of the Drivers in KC area are older workers.
There is no advancement for Truck Drivers. Pay is the only incentive that this company offers. Speaking of that it took us three years to get 3% increase in pay.
Overall compensation for your work
The offer 200.00 Dollars a Day. The new guy's get this, but the Driver that have there for longer usually get the lesser paying loads.
Office / Work Environment
You work in the great out doors. They provide only the Trucks, Trailers, Uniform shirts, Fire Safety Shirt,Helmet, Safety glasses. We found out three years after we started a boot replacement .
It's mandatory in this field to be environmentally aware.
Most drivers would like better runs. But they seem to give these runs to the subcontractors. The Company Drivers during Day shift get the crap Loads. As the night crews get milk runs.
When I did work for Eco, I had some pride in the work but that subsided after working with the drivers.
If you don't perform to their expectations you won't be there long. If you don't meet DOT requirements you won't be there long either.
Yes they provide training, and if you don't pass the classes they use your safety bonus as a weapon against you to comply.
The only challenge in this line of work is traffic. I was bored out of my mind.
Inclusive / Diverse
They ask for your input, then if the idea is feasible. They will use it, but you won't get the credit for the idea. Best just to keep your ideas to yourself.
