Lots of opportunities. If you are an employee!
Support from management
Operations manager has absolutely no integrity
Information transfer was poor. Lots of good old boy network occurring.
Not very good at equality. I was pushed out of my position and the job was offered to two people who did not take the position.
Attitude towards older colleagues
I applied for my position four times and was never interviewed. I am inclined to believe there was age discrimination involved. However, I have no way to prove it. The position was offered to some folks that were college age and I was never interviewed.
Only personal development that was supported was that done on your own time. The Director of IS did not believe in training. He would rather bring in someone else than train existing workers.
Overall compensation for your work
Absolutely unbelievable if you are an employee. If a contractor nothing.
Office / Work Environment
Great if you are an employee.
As a contractor, there is absolutely no job security. I worked at Avista for seventeen years either through Volt, EDS, or HP and I was thrown under the bus by both HP and the Operations
Inclusive / Diverse
Not inclusive at all. If you aren't in the correct fraternity or college your career goes no where.
Suggestions for improvement
- Immediately fire the 4-6 IS/IT managers that have no ethics and integrity. I don't see how they look at themselves in the mirror.
What I like about the company
What I dislike about the company
Alot. Contractors had zero movement, no promotions or raises as an HP employee. We were expected to work very hard, and got no rewards for our effort. We were not allowed to move into any Avista positions. We were held back from moving forward. In fact, I will never work for a company contracting like HP or Volt ever again.
