- Electorial Commission11.Dec 2015
Frankly, this is seriously a great job, if one has/is:
1)Work-Life Balance Issues
2)Another part-time job
3) Interested in politics or
the issues at hand.
4)Good clerical skills and is
But, if one is seeking a high paying job, this may not be the job for you. Benefits do exist, but frankly they're available to most Wisconsinites! However, most aren't aware of them. A position with the Electorial Commission does offer one the chance to network with City Hall, in order to learn what benefits are available, which can be most helpful!
Work can be challenging, and one is expected to have good work habits and moral fiber! Normally, it's a safe environment, with good working conditions. Expect an inclusive and diverse work culture, (like a very large company). Business Casual Dress Code Is Enforced, as well as Business Manners! But, I have to say, in my 35 yrs working with the Election Commission, for the most part, I totally enjoyed the work and the experience! Gave me a chance to meet the movers n' shakers of the City, as well as visit neighborhoods I normally would only hear about, (pro And con) Would recommend this job to anyone/everyone interested in the workings of the city!
Suggestions for improvement
- Frankly, I would like to see the Election Commission remain exactly as they are, as we seek to embrace the younger generation. We have a lot to offer, both in entry level politics, as well as basic business/job skills and contacts.
What I like about the company
Allowed me a chance to visit diverse neighborhoods and be introduced to the "Movers n' Shakers", of the city. Also, helped me to become more aware of the issues facing the city.
What I dislike about the company
We do have to keep some difficult working hours.
The following benefits were offered to me
